Leadership Team
Diana Sterling, PCC, Founder and CEO
Â
Diana Sterling, PCC, is a distinguished executive coach, corporate trainer, and curriculum designer with a rich entrepreneurial background, having positively impacted over 1000 professionals across more than 40 countries. As a single mother, she faced unique challenges raising a teenage son. Discovering life coaching was a turning point for her, and initially sought it as a means to support her son but soon realized its profound impact on her own life. Through coaching, she underwent a transformative shift in perspective, recognizing that to effect change in a family dynamic, we first needed to change ourselves. This realization significantly improved their lives.
"The Parent as Coach Approach" transcends the traditional parenting paradigm by emphasizing the importance of understanding and fulfilling the needs and desires of young people through dialogue rather than imposition. It's not merely about being a guide to teenager but rather a comprehensive Family Life Guide suitable for families of all sizes.
The Family Coach Training Academy presents an opportunity for professionals working with families, teenagers, children, and parents to immerse themselves in the methodologies and philosophies of The Parent as Coach Approach. It serves as a beacon for those seeking to effect positive change in family dynamics, fostering healthier relationships and communication patterns. Join us in bringing these transformative principles to life!Â

Diana has been coaching for over 25 years and has been associated with the International Coaching Federation for that time. She holds the ICF credential of Professional Certified Coach (PCC). She is certified as a Humanistic Neuro-Linguistic Psychology Practitioner, and also holds the distinction of having completed the EQ-i 2.0 / EQ 360 Certification Program.
A Calling Born from Crisis
The roots of the Family Coach Training Academy trace back to a pivotal moment in 2001. In the aftermath of global upheaval, Diana recognized an urgent need for strengthened family bonds. From her living room in Portland, Oregon, single parent Diana launched an initiative that would grow beyond her wildest dreams — from local workshops to a worldwide academy dedicated to the art and science of family coaching.Â
From Humble Beginnings to Global Impact
What began as a small group of dedicated individuals has blossomed into an international network with over 400 Trained Family Coaches spanning more than 40 countries. Each step forward has been guided by our mission to empower families through education, empathy, and effective coaching practices.
